Colleges and universities have recently been cracking down on this common problem and are trying to educate people on how to prevent it.
A study done on 60 students at Cornell University showed that 20% of the weight gained by the test subjects was due to the fact students were eating at all-you-can-eat dining halls.
I think it’s time that I share a story on tumblr that Grace tells at every family gathering.
It goes like this: once upon a time I thought that “freshmen fifteen” was a code-word for the first fifteen people you slept with in college. Everybody was hitting that mark so fast in my first year and I was a combination of shocked and ashamed for a very long time. Was there something wrong with me? Was I not being invited to all the secret orgies because my god, we’re only two weeks into school and you already did “the freshmen fifteen!?” Thankfully, or maybe not so thankfully, I know what it really means now. I think my version is a lot more scandalous, I mean who cares about fifteen pounds compared to fifteen girls?
